2022 Beginning of the Year Update Letter

Good morning All-Star Families,

It is hard to believe that we are just a few short weeks away from the start of school! The teachers, staff and I are excited to welcome back all our Atkinson students. We have eagerly anticipated the full reopening of school. One of the greatest characteristics of the Atkinson learning community is the genuine care and compassion shared between staff, students and parents. Atkinson Elementary is a place where staff and families come together to ensure that the children entrusted into our care grow to be productive, confident, compassionate, members of society. I wanted to give you a few updates on upcoming events for the start of the 2022-2023 school year.

BEGINNING OF SCHOOL EVENTS

Classroom Assignments Class assignments will be emailed to families at 4:00pm on Friday, August 19th. Class placement is a collaborative, comprehensive process and we all appreciate your trust, respect, and support of that process. 

New Family Orientation Any new families to North Andover or simply new to Atkinson outside of 1st graders who wish to see the building will be invited to visit on Monday, August 29th at 10:15 am. You can go in door 1 (glass doors at front of the building) and meet at the main office.

First Grade Orientation This is an opportunity for you and your child to come in, meet their teacher, see their classroom and get a feel for the school before the first day of school. It will be on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 10:45 am. Please meet in the cafeteria.

First Day of School Wednesday, August 31st is the first day of school. We will be in school on Wednesday, August 31st, and Thursday, September 1st. We will have Friday, September 2nd, and Monday, September 5th off for the long holiday weekend.
